The tourist tax has existed in France since 1910.
The community of municipalities Lézignanaise Corbières Minervois region is competent in tourism promotion, through the Corbières Minervois Intercommunal Tourist Office.
In order to perpetuate, develop its tourism policy and the enhancement of its territory and its heritage, tourist tax was voted on June 28, 2022 it will be applicable from 1er January 2023.
The proceeds of this tax will be entirely dedicated to expenditure relating to tourist development and will be donated to the Corbières Minervois Intercommunal Tourist Office.
The tourist tax is allocated, in accordance with the law, to the tourism budget, it will allow more particularly:
- Improve the means of financing local tourism development
- To develop services in terms of tourist promotion, reception, marketing actions….
- These actions aim to improve tourist attendance
Who must declare the tourist tax?
All tourist accommodation providers are concerned: hotels, residences, furnished accommodation, bed and breakfasts, lodges, holiday villages, campsites, marinas, youth hostels whether classified (1 to 5 stars) or not, labeled or not. .
The tourist tax is levied on persons lodged against payment. It is levied either by the hosts or by the digital operators (Gites de France, booking, airbnb, real estate agencies, etc.) on the condition that the latter are payment intermediaries on behalf of the rental companies of tourist accommodation.
The applicable tourist tax is in reality she is therefore not a tax » for the hosts who will be in charge, as provided for by law, of collecting it from their hosts.
The Corbières Minervois Intermunicipal Tourist Office is in charge of the animation of the community tourist tax. He is therefore your interlocutor.

Good to know before starting your classification process: the obligations for hosts in terms of administrative declaration
"Tourist furniture is furnished villas, apartments, studios for the exclusive use of the tenant, offered for rental to transient customers who make a stay characterized by daily, weekly or monthly rental, and who does not take up residence there" (tourism code)
Step 1 declare in the municipality where the rental is located, the town hall will give you a receipt of declaration.
