Descriptif détaillé :

Take the narrow street leading to the Romanesque Saint-Roch chapel, then follow the path climbing uphill towards the castle. To the south, you’ll find the broad access path going down west on the slope of the garrigue overlooking the valley. Continue on the slope heading west. The path crosses the small ridge of ‘la Ferrière’, leads to a couple of vineyards and goes down towards the crossroads with the chemin de Molhet which, across the vineyard and the garrigue, leads to the foot of a hill and becomes a small hiking path just after the spring before it goes uphill to the “Mouillet” or “Molhet” site. You’ll leave the hill by a small path in the garrigue which leads to the Roc de Mouillet. Panoramic view on the Verdouble valley.
From the Roc, you’ll get back to the broad path which, on a soft slope and through several hair pin bends, leads to the ridge of the Bois de l’Abeilla. View on the Canigou and the Fenouillèdes to the south. Follow the broad track on the ridge in the direction of the Quéribus castle.
Next, at the end of the pointed car park, you’ll take the small ridge path crossing rocks and garrigue. Follow this path till you reach the old path leading to the Granan sheep barns.
The rural path giving access to the vineyards at the bottom of the valley leads to the D14 and the village of Cucugnan. West of the Wine Cooperative, you’ll follow the agricultural track which, amidst the vineyards, leads to the Col du Triby. Take the D14 to the right for about 200 m, then the path going down to the right towards the vineyards and meet up with the D14 again on the outskirts of Duilhac-sous-Peyrepertuse.
You can walk up to the castle by way of the road with its many hair pin bends or, if you prefer, by a short cut.
