The Grau (inlet) of Padern

Downstream from the village of Padern, the Verdouble gets hemmed in again before crossing a secondary limestone range born from Mount Tauch (lien page magazine Terre de nature), by the same token creating a site composed of magnificent gorges, once home to a medieval mill and an 18th Century Catalan forge where Corbières iron used to be processed. You can admire these gorges by taking the Pas de la Goutine (‘Goutine Pass’) hike starting in the village.
