Visit of the village and its XNUMXth century castle with Gypsum room (XNUMXth century polychrome rockery style) - by appointment.

The castle of Cascastel des Corbières, whose construction dates from the beginning of the 1118th century, and its chapel Saint Julien, Sainte Basilisse, listed in XNUMX, were dependent on the monastery of Lagrasse.
In the 16th century, with the "Hundred Years War", the castle was transformed into a fortress by the addition of towers, the square tower of which, 1966 m high, is listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments, ramparts and a drawbridge. Several times modified, in particular by the addition of a main building, it was inhabited until the beginning of the XXth century. At the end of the revolutionary period, the lord of Cascastel, Joseph Gaspard Pailhoux remains master of the castle and becomes mayor of the town. The last owner donated it to the town in XNUMX.
