Georges Bertrand bought the Domaine de Villemajou. In 1975, he took his son Gérard, then aged ten, to do his first grape harvest. "You're lucky," he told him, "when you're fifty, you'll have forty vintages of experience." "He was so right," smiles Gérard Bertrand today. Because the adventure began here, in Villemajou on the Boutenac terroir.
Château Villemajou belongs to the Gérard Bertrand group, which includes several châteaux and estates. It was the first to be purchased and cultivated by Gérard Bertrand, back in 1975.
Drawing on its experience in vine cultivation and the production of exceptional wines, Domaine de Villamajou benefits from its expertise and offers wines crafted with respect for the terroir and recognized in Organic Agriculture.
Among the 17 estates in the complex, Villemajou is the only one in the Corbières-Boutenac AOP.
The estate is open by reservation for a tour and tasting of Corbières Minervois wines. Enjoy a day full of discoveries about wine and its production process. During this excursion, you will explore two estates: Clos d'Ora and Domaine de Villemajou. The day will conclude with a gourmet lunch.
