The GRP© (Grande Randonnée de Pays) Roman and Medieval Aude is in the process of being created. It will connect Narbonne and its cathedral, the Abbey of Fontfroide, the medieval city and the Abbey of Lagrasse and Carcassonne by traversing a loop to be completed over several days.

Marking and staking of this route are planned for 2024.

Between Narbonne and Carcassonne, the route follows an alternative route to the route of the Pyrenean Piedmont toward Santiago de Compostela, via the Abbeys of Fontfroide and Lagrasse. The total loop is approximately 225 km but it will be possible to do only part of it thanks to the public transport network and in particular at the stations of Narbonne and Carcassonne where the route passes.

From Carcassonne, it follows the canal du midi before branching off towards Narbonne via the junction canal and the Robine canal.
