Ornaisons is a pretty village whose bridge, classified as “States of Languedoc”, spans the Orbieu, whose waters, it is said, once rolled gold spangles. You cannot ignore the bell tower, a square tower topped with a Catalan-style wrought iron belfry itself supporting two very old bells. This Catalan art is found in certain facades of houses, whose coatings are dotted with terracotta debris. At the foot of the bell tower is the old wash house which offers its haven of freshness. The village extends between the plains of the Corbières and the Pech, a pine forest very popular with walkers, sports enthusiasts and nature lovers.
