Step 1

Take the lane leading to the Romanesque chapel of Saint-Roch then follow the path climbing up the hill and leading to the Castle.

Step 2

Join to the south the wide access path which descends due west on the side of the scrubland, overlooking the valley. Continue on the flank towards the west. The path crosses the small crest of the Ferrière, serves some vines and descends towards the crossroads of the Chemin de Molhet.

Step 3

Take it to the left through the vineyard then the scrubland. Continue west. (Optional: At the foot of a hill, beyond the source, climb to the site of “Mouillet” or “Molhet” (348m)) Continue along the path.

Step 4

At the intersection, go right, then further on the track to the left and pass the Crès sheepfold.

Step 5

A narrower path leads to the Roc de Mouillet. Panorama over the Verdouble valley. Go along its southern flank a little.

Step 6

From the Roc, take the wide track which gently sloping and large laces leads to the crest of the Bois de l'Abeilla (View of the Canigou and Fenouillèdes to the south.). Follow the wide track on the crest towards the Château de Quéribus. Lead to the parking lot of the Château de Quéribus (602 m) (Possibility of going up to Quéribus (paying) by the path on the left (400 m - 10 min).

Step 7

Then, at the end of the large sloping car park, take the small ridge path through rocks and scrubland. Follow this steep path, leaving the Bergeries de Granan lower left.

Step 8

The rural road, heading north, serves the vines at the bottom of the valley and leads to the D14 and the village of Cucugnan.

Step 9

Follow a path to the right between the cooperative cellar and the D 14. Walk straight through the vineyards to the Col du Triby.

Step 10

Continue through the scrubland and the vineyards to find the D14 at the entrance to Duilhac sous Peyrepertuse. (To find the GR 36, follow the D 14 on the left for a few meters, then go up to the right in the direction of the castle of Peyrepertuse. After about 2,5 km reach a start of the track in a hairpin bend. Junction with the GR 36 descending from Peyrepertuse castle and heading towards Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet.)

Be careful, the fire risk is often high, especially in summer, and can lead to flower bed closures. Find out before you go consulting the fire risk map for outdoor activities.
Fires strictly prohibited. Do not smoke and never throw cigarette butts in nature. Fires are numerous and catastrophic in our region. In the event of a fire or accident: give alert 18 or 112 from a cell phone.
Protect yourself from the sun and take enough water with you.
Avoid picking flowers and plants. Take all your trash. Close fences and keep dogs on a leash in pasture areas, villages and protected areas.

Mountain bike routes: the routes are often shared with hikers or other users (cars, tractors, etc.). Be careful and always anticipate that a pedestrian may be present around a bend to have time to brake if necessary. Pedestrians have priority in principle, slow down at crossings or stop if the configuration of the terrain requires you to do so.
Thank you and happy hiking!
