Your itinerary

1

Step 1

From the car park and the starting sign, follow the markings and take the dirt track to the safety barrier. Go through it to continue your route, which crosses a coniferous forest.
2

Step 2

At this intersection, do not take the narrow path on your left: continue straight ahead, along the lake.
3

Step 3

A new intersection appears, marked by another barrier: go through it and continue straight ahead on a small road. About 250 meters further on, take the track on your right. After traveling about 300 meters, you will see a wildlife observation hut on your right.
4

Step 4

The trail narrows to a singletrack. As you approach a bend, the two paths diverge: take the right-hand path first. This is an out-and-back detour of about 100 meters that leads to a picnic table and a viewpoint overlooking the lake. Then, retrace your steps and take the left-hand path to continue your route. You will then reach a small road.
5

Step 5

Once on the road, continue for approximately 550 meters until you reach the starting sign.

Be careful, the fire risk is often high, especially in summer, and can lead to flower bed closures. Find out before you go consulting the fire risk map for outdoor activities.
Fires strictly prohibited. Do not smoke and never throw cigarette butts in nature. Fires are numerous and catastrophic in our region. In the event of a fire or accident: give alert 18 or 112 from a cell phone.
Protect yourself from the sun and take enough water with you.
Avoid picking flowers and plants. Take all your trash. Close fences and keep dogs on a leash in pasture areas, villages and protected areas.

Mountain bike routes: the routes are often shared with hikers or other users (cars, tractors, etc.). Be careful and always anticipate that a pedestrian may be present around a bend to have time to brake if necessary. Pedestrians have priority in principle, slow down at crossings or stop if the configuration of the terrain requires you to do so.
Thank you and happy hiking!

A superb hike around Lac des Aiguilles. Beyond the magnificent scenery, I really appreciated the information panels installed along the trail. They provide a wealth of information about the local wildlife and the birds that inhabit the area. It's fun, well-illustrated, and transforms the walk into a genuine exploration of the Minervois region's biodiversity. A big thank you for this initiative that showcases the natural heritage!
