TOURNISSAN

1

Step 1

Pass between the stele and the raised stone, leave the start of the Francis Lasténouse trail on the left, cross the wooden footbridge and climb along the Caunes ravine through red soil, scrubland, boxwood and pines.
2

Step 2

After about 500 meters, turn right on the old Ribaute path, a path that crosses the ravine and climbs along a stream. You come out on a track, facing the vineyard. Go to the right.
3

Step 3

At the start of the descent, leave the track in the large curve to the left. Head towards the Sarrat de La Bade. A round trip of 500 m allows a magnificent point of view on the villages of the wine-growing plain, the massif of Corbières, the chain of the Pyrenees. The path descends through a series of scree, carved steps, on the side of the Sarrat. At the bottom, it crosses a succession of eroded and sculpted rocks in red earth. (pay attention to the markup). Low walls of dry stones, piles of stones, testify to a strong pastoral occupation.
4

Step 4

The path goes around Roche Trouée. We pass at the foot of this strange rock whose base forms a cavity which sinks into the rock. Cross a pine grove. Then descend towards the plain. The path passes under a plot of fruit trees and continues on the side in the scrubland above the vines.
5

Step 5

Then descend to the Caunes ravine, cross it and reach the stele and the car park.

Be careful, the fire risk is often high, especially in summer, and can lead to flower bed closures. Find out before you go consulting the fire risk map for outdoor activities.
Fires strictly prohibited. Do not smoke and never throw cigarette butts in nature. Fires are numerous and catastrophic in our region. In the event of a fire or accident: give alert 18 or 112 from a cell phone.
Protect yourself from the sun and take enough water with you.
Avoid picking flowers and plants. Take all your trash. Close fences and keep dogs on a leash in pasture areas, villages and protected areas.

Mountain bike routes: the routes are often shared with hikers or other users (cars, tractors, etc.). Be careful and always anticipate that a pedestrian may be present around a bend to have time to brake if necessary. Pedestrians have priority in principle, slow down at crossings or stop if the configuration of the terrain requires you to do so.
Thank you and happy hiking!

Small, nice and fast loop, beautiful point of view at the orientation table, the perforated rock has no hole, it is more of a hollowed out rock but the geological curiosity is nice to see, well marked trail.
