1

Step 1

From the recreation area, the shaded path then runs along the Orbieu river. We pass in front of (behind) a building. Two possibilities then:
2

Step 2

Either turn right and pass in front of the catchment frame then after the transformer turn right and along the gardens return to the recreation area. Or continue along Orbieu crossing a small bridge over the stream. The river describes a bend.
3

Step 3

After passing in front of a characteristic plane tree, you enter a vineyard area. View of the Luc sur Orbieu wind turbines. We then turn our backs to the bank to move towards a small pine wood.
4

Step 4

You can then either walk along the pine wood on the small road on the right and reach the village. Or turn left on the small road (Chemin de Luc sur Orbieu) which becomes a path and passes through the vineyard. Viewpoints over the Alaric, the Pyrenees and closer, the wine-growing plain.
5

Step 5

At the intersection with another track, turn right towards the village.
6

Step 6

At the crossroads marked by a stone cross, turn right, walk along the mill (without wings), take advantage of the benches for a break. We find the river. Take the path to the left for 100 m. Turn left (picnic table). The path climbs a little then turns right. We reach the transformer and the return route to the recreation area.

Be careful, the fire risk is often high, especially in summer, and can lead to flower bed closures. Find out before you go consulting the fire risk map for outdoor activities.
Fires strictly prohibited. Do not smoke and never throw cigarette butts in nature. Fires are numerous and catastrophic in our region. In the event of a fire or accident: give alert 18 or 112 from a cell phone.
Protect yourself from the sun and take enough water with you.
Avoid picking flowers and plants. Take all your trash. Close fences and keep dogs on a leash in pasture areas, villages and protected areas.

Mountain bike routes: the routes are often shared with hikers or other users (cars, tractors, etc.). Be careful and always anticipate that a pedestrian may be present around a bend to have time to brake if necessary. Pedestrians have priority in principle, slow down at crossings or stop if the configuration of the terrain requires you to do so.
Thank you and happy hiking!

thank you for these precise and useful descriptions; I will thus be able to share the walks of my childhood with my friends whom I invite to discover the beauties of Corbières!
