This course, common to circuit 22 on its final part, first goes in the direction of Roc Nitable then returns to the plateau of Mouthoumet and its meadows. A very rolling variant goes through Lanet. After passing under the Rocs Courbatiers (707 m) and Mont Escourgeat (778 m), you reach the Milobre de Massac (908 m) where a 360° panorama awaits you. You will follow the return route, common to circuit 22, to Laroque de Fa. This route is ideal for electric bikes. To see: Laroque de Fa, plateau of Mouthoumet, Milobre de Massac (908 m) with one of the most beautiful panoramas of Corbières: Mont Tauch, the castles of Quéribus and Peyrepertuse, the Pyrenees, the peak of Bugarach, the Ariège, Mount Alaric, mountain landscapes, Orme Mort forest.

Step 1

From the old station, follow the RD 613 towards the village. Turn right onto rue de la Mairie. Climb due north, follow the common PR + VTT markings (about 5,4 km from the start).

Turn left on the track (about 2,2 kms).

Slant to the right, follow the pastures (! livestock area, close the barriers well). Pay attention to signage.

Turn left, chemin de Caulière (GR36). Then right on the D613. You arrive in Mouthoumet. Follow rue de la Gare and rue des Écoles. From here, it is possible to take a variant (very rolling option) by Lanet. To follow the main route, continue about 100 m on the secondary road.

Go down to the left on a paved road which turns into a dirt road.

At the sheepfold of Gravere, leave the track by turning on the path to the left. Descent into the woods. Go up to the right along the Ruisseau del Caula to the D 212. Go left (about 1km).

After the bridge (Ruisseau de la Grave) turn left then continue to the right. Climb the track bypassing the Sarrenc farm. Continue under the Rocs Courbatiers (707m) and Mont Escourgeat (778m). Then straight south (Orme Mort forest).

At the fork, go right. 600m after the small refuge, you arrive at a crossroads.

A round trip to the right leads to Milobre de Massac (908m) where a breathtaking panorama awaits you. Return to the crossroads. Turn left into the undergrowth (Combe de l'Esteille).

Step 10

At the Col de l'Orme Mort (689m), you will find a crossroads. Follow the return route, common to circuit 22, to Laroque de Fa.

Be careful, the fire risk is often high, especially in summer, and can lead to flower bed closures. Find out before you go consulting the fire risk map for outdoor activities.
Fires strictly prohibited. Do not smoke and never throw cigarette butts in nature. Fires are numerous and catastrophic in our region. In the event of a fire or accident: give alert 18 or 112 from a cell phone.
Protect yourself from the sun and take enough water with you.
Avoid picking flowers and plants. Take all your trash. Close fences and keep dogs on a leash in pasture areas, villages and protected areas.

Mountain bike routes: the routes are often shared with hikers or other users (cars, tractors, etc.). Be careful and always anticipate that a pedestrian may be present around a bend to have time to brake if necessary. Pedestrians have priority in principle, slow down at crossings or stop if the configuration of the terrain requires you to do so.
