This course is a variant of circuit 23, very rolling, which passes through Lanet. It starts off in the direction of Roc Nitable then returns to the Mouthoumet plateau and its meadows. At Mouthoumet, it leaves the main route to continue towards Lanet. We find the main course at the level of the bridge over the Orbieu. After passing under the Rocs Courbatiers (707 m) and Mont Escourgeat (778 m), you reach the Milobre de Massac (908 m) where a 360° panorama awaits you. You will follow the return route, common to circuit 22, to Laroque de Fa. This route is ideal for electric bikes. To see: Laroque de Fa, plateau of Mouthoumet, Milobre de Massac (908 m) with one of the most beautiful panoramas of Corbières: Mont Tauch, the castles of Quéribus and Peyrepertuse, the Pyrenees, the peak of Bugarach, the Ariège, Mount Alaric, mountain landscapes, Orme Mort forest.

Step 1

From the old station, follow the RD 613 towards the village. Turn right onto rue de la Mairie. Climb due north, follow the common PR + VTT markings (about 5,4 km from the start).

Turn left on the track (about 2,2 kms).

Step 3

Slant to the right, follow the pastures (! livestock area, close the barriers well). Pay attention to signage.

Turn left, chemin de Caulière (GR36). Then right on the D613. You arrive in Mouthoumet. Follow rue de la Gare and rue des Écoles. This is where you will leave the main route to continue on the variant, towards Lanet. In Mouthoumet, follow the small road towards Les Plas, due west.

Step 5

At Lanet, turn left (D212). Cross the Pont d'Orbieu on the right, D613 and turn immediately left (D212). Find the main route between Les Moulines and La Forge.

Step 6

After the bridge (Ruisseau de la Grave) turn left then continue to the right. Climb the track bypassing the Sarrenc farm. Continue under the Rocs Courbatiers (707m) and Mont Escourgeat (778m). Then straight south (Orme Mort forest).

At the fork, go right. 600m after the small refuge, you arrive at a crossroads.

A round trip to the right leads to Milobre de Massac (908m) where a breathtaking panorama awaits you. Return to the crossroads. Turn left into the undergrowth (Combe de l'Esteille).

Step 9

At the Col de l'Orme Mort (689m), you will find a crossroads. Follow the return route, common to circuit 22, to Laroque de Fa.

Be careful, the fire risk is often high, especially in summer, and can lead to flower bed closures. Find out before you go consulting the fire risk map for outdoor activities.

Protect yourself from the sun and take enough water with you.
Avoid picking flowers and plants. Take all your trash. Close fences and keep dogs on a leash in pasture areas, villages and protected areas.

Mountain bike routes: the routes are often shared with hikers or other users (cars, tractors, etc.). Be careful and always anticipate that a pedestrian may be present around a bend to have time to brake if necessary. Pedestrians have priority in principle, slow down at crossings or stop if the configuration of the terrain requires you to do so.
