Part of the Corbières region has endured an unprecedented ordeal. A fire of exceptional magnitude transformed the landscape, affecting 16,000 hectares of vineyards, scrubland, trails, fauna, and flora. But nature, resilient and surprising, never takes long to be reborn. With or without human intervention, it comes back to life, it regenerates, and it amazes us. And we have chosen to tell you about this rebirth...

The renaissance of hiking trails

The history of hiking trails in Corbières-Minervois is not limited to maps. Since 2001, it has been weaving a deeply human project: social integration, links between villages, highlighting natural and cultural heritage, and creating an innovative tourist offering—now recognized and sought-after.

It's a collective adventure, driven by faces and commitments. By Pierre, Régis, Max, André... visionary elected officials, builders of this hiking network. By Francis, Bernard, Marie B, Michel, Marie, Pepe... and so many volunteers who have worked passionately alongside the Corbières Minervois Tourist Office. By our team, who for years have been promoting this region with consistency and fervor. This story is theirs. And we invite you to follow it, step by step, in its rebirth. It will take time, patience, work, and commitment. But one day, hikers will once again tread the paths of Coustouge, Jonquières, Ribaute, Saint-Laurent de la Cabrerisse, Talairan, Tournissan, Thézan-des-Corbières, Durban, Fontjoncouse, and Villesèque-des-Corbières. In the meantime, other routes — on foot, by mountain bike or by VTC — remain open and we warmly recommend them.

Gilles and Céline Deschamps, Our trusted partner photographers sensitively capture the scars of the landscape. Their lenses become a record of the past: they capture the scars, the silences, the nuances of a wounded landscape. They will be there throughout this process of resilience, faithful witnesses to the invisible rebirth, to the beauty that endures, to the hope that rises from the ashes.
